Saint Martin's Class of '73
Honoring Our Living Teachers
In addition to the Memorial service and Bench dedication in honor of Mr. Graf, the Class of '73 wanted to take the Shrimp Boil as an opportunity to once more honor and thank ALL of our teachers at StM.
Class members were asked to sponsor and invite their favorite teacher, coach or administrator and, though not all were able to join us, many did!! What a pleasure it was to see them after all this time.
You know, it can take years of perspective to realize how much someone may have helped, influenced and well guided us in the past -- so it was terrific to be able to once again thank these wonderful folks for their part in our young lives - many lessons will remain with us always.
As they departed, our teachers were presented with books and custom-made bookmarks with the inscription ...
"To a beloved teacher with gratitude from the St. Martin's Class of '73"

Each was also given a bonsai tree in a planter containing a message from Confucius:
"If your plan is for one year, plant rice;
If your plan is for ten years, plant trees;
If your plan is for a hundred years, educate children."

Little Note From Kicker: sheeeoooot!!! - I didn't know of the bonsai gifts - what a great idea, Melissa! If I had known, we could have included a copy of "The Bonsai Master". Oh well - you can look if you like. I dedicated it to Mrs. Frost who passed away shortly after our reunion weekend.
