'Kicker' Vallas Agustin Barrios Mangore - La Catedral - Preludio Just a second pass - I'm a little embarrassed to admit that this is after 10 days with it --- but I did take off 2 days in there - once for sore fingertips and once because I just didn't get around to playing that day :-)) Ok - enough excuses.This is, at least, better than the first pass - a bit slow yet and some typical hav fumbles (memory AND fingers) but, for what it's worth, here's a second pass at this lovely piece.The background, as I understand it, is that the Preludio to La Cat. was written some 20 odd years after the Andante and Allegro sections - and during a period in his life when he was very ill, out of money and feeling (by reports) pretty down -- thus "Saudade" I guess -- means Homesickness or Nostalgia depending on your translation. I can relate I guess and I WILL play this piece some day!!Still, it is amAZing how well the Preludio leads into the Andante -- I swear I feel an almost physical compulsion to play on into the Andante following the last chord of the Preludio -- Barrios MUST have been on some different plane of reality or something - WOW - I just REALLY like this piece!!BTW - I tried a lighter noise reduction this time to see if I could avoid the crappy highs - maybe better but there is some AC noise in the beginning that remains - sorry. This was just a practice pass and suffers from poor camera placement in addition to some breath noise, some very strange facial tension (monkey faces) here and there :-))) and, of course, typical hav bad notes -- all capped off by two REALLY bad fudges in the final phrase - ARRRRRRrr - ALMOST 8 FRIGGIN' MINUTES OF PLAYING RIGHT DOWN THE OL' SHOOT!!!.
