I am going to make an entry, however I see that no new ones have been made since 2003.

I can't believe no one contacted me for the 2003 reunion. One of only 3 Mosterts in the state of Louisiana, for Pete's Sakes! Did ya'll know there is this magical informational highway that Al Gore invented called the internet? Can you tell my feelings are hurt!

Ya'll will never believe how I found this site. My younger brother Ric Mostert, who's bithday is today, May 2nd, whom I sent a birthday salutation this morning, replied and said he connected with some fellow St. Martin Alums (... mmmm - yeah - that would be Kicker... ha ha ha) and they were discussing the past. He was directed to this site and was amazed to find a picture of me. If some of you don't remember me I am in the 1993 reunion picture at the bottom of the page, the fellow with the red guitar. How do I know that reunion was in 1993? My wifes 40th birthday was the day we attempted to preform that reunion mass.

Enough of being bitter from missing out on seeing ya'll again in '03.

I have lived in Baton Rouge since 1973 where I met my wife & partner Zandi (no typo it is a Z), at this date we have been together, without anyone having to call 911 for 35 years. Our son Shannon,(yeah I know it has been turned into a girls name - it is really an irish boys name)is 33years old married with one daughter that just turned 9, Krysta (she's a genuis, loves school, nothing below an A on her report card since she started) nuttin like her grandfather. One daughter Tiffany ( My wife an I swear we started the influx of these two names, Shannon & Tiffany in society - what a claim to fame) she is 32 an helping take care of Mom & Dad. Oh I almost forgot our yougest a 2 1/2 year old daughter "Sophie" she is a very smart, blue merle austrialian shepard.

Kicker I am sorry I don't recall you, but since this apparently goes to your e-mail I want to thank you for putting this together. It was nice to reminisce, and find out about old friends and that my little brothers are so close to home (Cliff & Peanut)I will be knocking on thier doors soon, shame on you Pappa & Mamma Grout, ya'll know we have been here in Baton Rouge all a long. Well I guess I can share some of blame, ya'll are only a phone call away and I still have all my fingers, SORRY. I seem to get all tied up with what's happening at the moment.

yup, it's Gwen signing in... I was not aware of this site until I googled John & Carole to try to contact them... but then, I always was a bit behind the times, wasn't I?

My husband of 16 years (Tom) and I live in Conroe TX, about an hour north of Houston. I seized the opportunity to work with our church and have been on staff there for the past 8 years. I now work with a fellow church member in his 20-year-old business (I'm the first non-family employee). I'm lovin' it.

Tom and I were introduced by a girl that I grew up with in Kenner... Leanne (Crawley) Goff... some of you may remember her... she played the drums. nyway, Tom and I spent the first 9 months of our marriage in Mexico with Leanne and her husband and three other families establishing a missions training base in San Luis Potosi (about mid-way between Mexico City and Monterrey). After returning to the States we discovered that Tom had (has) Parkinson's Disease. He is being evaluated this Wednesday (10/3/07)for a procedure known as Deep Brain Stimulation, which greatly improves motor function, however does not help with cognitive function, mood or speech.

My dad ("Mr. Frank", aka, "Dad" to some of you) passed away in October of 2003 following a three-year battle with lung cancer. He was so very fond of our group, and loved being around us when we gathered together... he was even at the first IHN reunion in City Park!

As for me and my guitar, I've been involved in various aspects of the worship ministry and worship team until recently. My two 12-strings (Martin Shenandoah & Gibson) are getting dusty. Maybe I'll be able to pull them out for the next reunion!

Man - it seems a long time, and I can never get down to reunions - even high school reunions. Am living in Alexandria, LA, and practicing law (Private Practice)as well as being an Assistant District Attorney for the past 23 years. I have a lovely wife (Beth) and two gorgeous daughters (Harper and Wallace).

I see Ted Mostert every now and then and still get back to Camp Hardtner every now and then. I'm playing more trumpet and trombone than guitar and cello, but still keep the hand in once and awhile. My love to everyone in IHN, even though I was kind of an obtuse member! I even remember the theme song!

Beth and I had started a folk mass group here at St. James, Alexandria, which we called "All That Jazz" and it went well for many years. Changes in Rectors and getting tired of "Sons of God" basically wore us out. But Beth did have the opportunity to take up the banjo during the process. Maybe, it can be resurrected .... Hmmmm.

It was so good to see all of you in New Orleans. Time has passed, but our ability to reconnect was great. The Grouts were such great forces in our lives. Thank you all for being apart of my youth and may we sing together again. peace my friends.

Myra called me last night and told me about the reunion. I found the web site today so just had to sign in. I have been playing "can you find me in the picture" today with my coworkers. So far I haven't really stumpt anyone. I ran across a Camp Hartner senior camp photo not too long ago. It reminds me of the sunrise photo. I've been at Ochsner hospital now for 25 years. I'll get a clock ( with my name on it) next week at our service award ceremony- I've been holding out for it! I got married 5 years ago and I live in Luling now. Can't believe I left Uptown, but now have 2 stepchildren and the "country" seems to provide a better environment. Hope to make it to the reunion.

OK, so it's been a long time since I checked the site... (sorry.) I guess I need to update my "what-the-hell-have-I-been-doing-since-1973" bio. So here goes:

Got out of LSU in 1985 with a degree in Architecture (don't ask - I don't know how, either), and got married in 1987. Ellen and I are going on 15 years of marital bliss (yea, right - I'm a Grout... But she loves me anyway). We have two lovely tax deductions - Anne, 8, and Jack, 5, and two ornery cats - Lunar Excursion Module (a.k.a. LEM), and Greenwich Mean Time (a.k.a. Z).

We live near Baton Rouge now, but from 1987-1994 we lived outside of Boston, Massachusetts (in Newton). We really miss snow and our weekends in Maine!

Papa G. is still known by that. As in infant, Anne translated "Papa John" into "Pocka-John", which she and Jack call him to this day. Well that, and also "Old Windy". (yes, for THAT reason....) -- Mama G. is known as "Granmacarole", and is as magical as ever with them.

Presently, I am a founding principal in Group Novak LLC architecture/interiors in Baton Rouge. Really. (http://www.groupnovak.com/) I hired my wife as my administrator/receptionist, so I guess that means I'm sleeping with my secretary. Please don't tell OSHA. The firm is only about six months old, so (shameless marketing plug coming) if any of you need the services of an architect for, say, a house, an office building, or a garage for your new BMW..... I am available. And I do take my lithium before I go to work. (GRIN!!)

I still recall my days with IHN fondly. Y'all were my extended family (which made me your pain-in-the-ass little brother, right?) and y'all taught me so much. I mean, I am the ONLY person my age who knows who Phil Ochs is, much less can sing "Love me, I'm a Liberal" from memory!

.....CLIFF

Ken these days What a great idea and what a great surprise! The memories of IHN were almost lost in all the fog of the past 25 years. They all came flooding back with relative clarity when I found the site and read some of the guestbook. Thanks Myra for forwarding the info and Kicker for starting this. It is incredible.

I'll have to send a picture to update everyone's impression of me. The pic on this site shows me with too much hair. I now shave my head so you gotta' see it!

I don't sing anymore, found out I never could. You guys carried me all those years! However, I remember how wonderful it felt to be part of that wonderful group and know all of you. It was a great experience in my life that I will never forget (especially now).

Loved finding this site. Myra ran into Adelaide who shared it with her, and she passed it on to me. I have passed it on to Ken who is in Kansas City. He's with Hallmark and doing very well for himself.

Cathy these days I am in Memphis (actually Bartlett, as small town outside Memphis). I married a country boy I met in college when I moved to TN with my family. We've been married for almost 21 years. We have two children, Angela, age 17; and Kevin, age 13. Angela graduates from high school this year. Kevin may never graduate. Kevin is my rebel - acutally does a lot of the things we used to do, but he gets caught.

I am a social worker for the State. Been there for 23 1/2 years. I'll retire after 30 years, and find another career. I'm still attending the Episcopal Church, St. Elisabeth's, and sing in the choir. I've been at St. E's for 16 years, and have been in the choir all that time. My name is on all the music, so like Melissa, they can't kick me out. I sing soprano since it is usually the melody and even after all these years I still don't read music or count the beats. I just watch everyone else, and sing by ear, if there is such a thing.

Love to all.
Cathy

Kicker-

Thanks for a great sight. I really enjoyed looking at all of the photos. #25 is Pam Froeba of St. Paul's.

My husband and I go to St. Paul's and get to see John and Carole almost every Sunday! Aren't we the lucky ones? Some things never change, and that's the Grout's. Still as charming and witty as ever!

Actually, not only do we go to St. Paul's, but I was recruited to sing in the choir about 15 years ago. With In His Name, I played clarient because I can't carry a tune on my own. Now, I sing tenor. Not well, but if after 15 years if I can't sing the "parts", shame on me. They let me stay because (a) they bought new robes and my name is in indelible ink in the collar or (b) we are desperate for bodies to put in the choir stalls. Both are true.

Hope everyone is doing well and look forward to visiting again.

Melissa

P.S.  No more "Fang." Two teeth were pulled and four years of braces have made a difference!
