hav.Software is a DBA for Horace A. Vallas, Jr. - but you may know me as "Kicker" or "hav" or maybe not.

After 15 years or so years in the real world as a professional software developer/analyst/manager, I struck out on my own in 1994 selling several of my neural network libraries and software development services. I stumbled onto the Internet quite by accident as a way to more effectively market my libraries to the academic community - by far my largest customer base at the time. What I found was a dearth of professional software developers doing Internet work (at least, in Houston, Tx.).

It was the beginning of a number of years and a lot of fun working on various Internet related applications, services and sites. It was also the birth of the hav.com website. The website has always been - and remains - a mish-mash of both business and personal pages. If you snarf around the site, you may even still find a couple of Mosaic pages ;-)
